VMS Eve performed her debut public flight today flying up from Scaled Composites, Mojave, to land at the EAA Air Venture, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She wowed the crowds as she circled magnificently over the site, piloted by Peter Siebold, co pilot Clint Nichols and with flight engineer Bob Morgan in the third seat. Sir Richard Branson was on the ground to greet VMS Eve and the pilots and shortly after went off to training with them in preparation for his maiden voyage in the Mothership tomorrow. Check back here tomorrow to here more exciting news from the Virgin Galactic team.

An amazing acomplishment! Considering the time scale involved. Fair enough it is only sub orbital, but if you had given this project to NASA, it would have taken 20 years, 10,000 people and the gross national product of a small country to achieve. Private enterprise at its greatest.

I think this is a momentus step towards the future. I have always wondered when we were going to step into the realm of space exploration. It just comes to show that if you want think it you can achieve it. Only time will tell if others will follow suit. Great job Sir branson..

Incredible job you all have made it really makes me and I think everyone on this planet proud, what you have accomplished is amazing. Sir Richard Branson has proven to be not only one of the best business men of history but also the most incredible pioneer and is absolutely admirable. I wish this will evolve into even greater projects and that someday I can raise the cash to make a trip to space! Congratulations to all the crew!
