Purdue Musicians for STEM

Supporting Roy and Sarah Johnson Purdue Bands and Orchestras Scholarship Endowment

In 2015 through Galactic Unite, our Virgin Galactic Future Astronauts Sharon and Marc Hagle provided funding towards support of Roy and Sarah Johnson Purdue Bands and Orchestras Endowment Scholarship Program at Purdue University. There are over 850 STEM majors that can apply for this scholarship.

These scholarships are open to all students in the Purdue University Band and Orchestras department, including jazz-band students, marching-band students, concert-band students and orchestra students. Musicians make terrific engineers and we hope that this scholarship encourages them to pursue STEM careers in order to solve global challenges.

Marc and Sharon Hagle are passionate about supporting young people and inspiring the next generation of dynamic thinkers and innovators. In 2015 Sharon also launched SpaceKids Global, a not-for-profit initiative that is brining interactive education programs to elementary school students across America – further encouraging young people to pursue STEAM careers in order to solve global challenges.
