Adrian Reynard is a Chartered Engineer, holding two doctorates in science and engineering along with professorships at two universities. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

At age 19, he designed and hand-built a motorcycle, racing it to break five motorcycle world land speed records. Adrian founded Reynard Racing Cars Ltd in 1973, building racing cars that won countless championships in Formula 3, Formula 3000, IndyCar, Le Mans, two Indy 500 wins and multiple ChampCar titles - becoming the largest racing car manufacturer in the world in the1990’s winning two Queens Awards for Export.

The British entrepreneur comes by his love of space naturally, captivated by his father’s career as an aviation engineer and, like his fellow Galactic 03 crewmates, growing up witnessing the birth of space travel in the 1960’s. In fact, on his Galactic 03 flight, Adrian will carry two medals from famed Gemini and Apollo Astronauts. One is the NASA Distinguished Service Medal awarded to Ed White and the second is an Apollo 1 Mission Medal that Gus Grissom was to carry into space with him.

Aboard VSS Unity, Reynard will wear not only the UK flag but also the British Racing Club Driver’s patch and an emblem of Friends of Race Against Dementia.
